St. Monica's is a small school
with an enrolment of approximately 170
children in seven grades.
St. Monica’s is a Catholic Parish
Primary School
and all children participate in Religious Education as we see
this as being vital for the development of all children at St.
Monica's. The children learn they are secure in the knowledge
that they are loved by God and those around them in the school
and parish.
The Sacraments of
Reconciliation and Eucharist are received in Year 3 and
Confirmation in Year 6.
The school has an excellent
experienced staff. The committed, hard working teachers at St.
Monica's are able to give all children the individual
attention that young learners require. The teachers are very
experienced and skilled in assisting children whose second
language is English.
As well as the class teachers
the school has special literacy trained teachers to give extra
assistance in reading, writing, speaking and listening. These
teachers work in all grades. The school has a rich curriculum
with special strengths in reading and writing and computer
education.
We have a librarian to develop
reading, library and information skills.
